NEWS & INFORMATION
NWHoodTales interviews author Nichelle Walker
about her debut Novella.
NWHoodTales: Hi Nichelle how's it going?
Nichelle: Great, real excited about my project.
NWHoodTales: Why did you choose to do a novella instead of a novel?
Nichelle: Well I wanted to do something different, I had a idea to take my story and turn in into a trilogy. I am finishing the last book right now, and they all will drop this year three months apart. I thought it would be something fresh and I always look to be different.
NWHoodTales: Now tell me about Emerald?
Nichelle: Emerald is a young girl that falls in love with a handsome drug dealer. She had no parents and was poor so she moved to fast with him. Emerald was given the life she never had so she falls hard for Dollar. She wanted to live the good life and really didn't know what all came with dating a baller.
NWHoodTales: What sets your story apart from everybody else?
Nichelle: Well my story is really hood; it's about things that go on in everyday hood life. When you read this book you probably can relate to some of the things she goes threw are knows somebody who's been threw it.
NWHoodTales: Can you relate to any of the things she goes threw? Is your story written off your own personal experience?
Nichelle: No, it's not my own personal experience. I can relate to some of her issue with her boyfriend. But not everything I haven't dated a baller ;)
NWHoodTales: Well what's next for Nichelle?
Nichelle: My next book the second part of the trilogy M.O.N is dropping August 1, 2007 and the last installment Fein is dropping Nov 1 and in December I might drop this book called Misery Luv's Company if not December than January 2008.
NWHoodTales: Well we wish you all the luck and much success.
Nichelle: Thank you.
